How To Design A Fixer Upper Nursery That Joanna Would Love

Yep, I’ve jumped on the bandwagon and let me tell you it feels good! This Fixer Upper nursery is my take on the beautiful work of Joanna and Chip Gaines from HGTV’s amazingly popular tv show, Fixer Upper.

I actually haven’t seen very many episodes of Fixer Upper at all since we cut the cable a few years ago, but unless you’re completely cut off from all forms of digital media I’m sure you’ve heard of them.

I think it’s their down-to-earth, warm and friendly style coupled with their amazing talent that makes them such a hit with their millions of fans. And if you don’t know their style it seems to be categorized in a few different ways; some say rustic, some farmhouse, others cottage style, French, industrial or even vintage.

But in the end, all of their room designs are inviting, timeless and chic.

So, now that you know a bit about their unique decorating style, let’s take it and translate it into this Joanna Gaines nursery for your little one!

Love that iconic Fixer Upper style but you're not sure how to recreate it at home? Then come check out this Fixer Upper nursery that brings all the classic Joanna Gaines elements into your little baby's room. It's the perfect farm house style nursery!

Like the show, the base of the baby room is neutral. You can keep the walls white or paint them in a soft, muted gray, blue or beige. Then we add in the foundational elements, the crib, glider and dresser.

The crib has that cottage-y feel with the shiplap-looking sides, while the dresser brings in the warmth and natural feel of the wood. The glider is contemporary with a touch of a cottage feel with it’s muted blue fabric and contrasting white welting.

Next, we add a few decorative elements and some smaller essentials. The white toy storage provides plenty of room for all of baby’s necessities. The beautiful mercury glass table lamps add a tiny hint of glam and sophistication to the room. The pillows and the artwork all evoke that sense of laid back, farmhouse living that Joanna is such an expert at creating.

Finally just add in the finishing touches with the industrial rustic pendant lamp, the soft yellow wall clock and a few more decorative elements and you have yourself a DIY farmhouse nursery that any mom would be proud to show off!
