Fall Gnome Craft

Creating this adorable gnome offers your young children a chance to work on fine motor skills as they cut and glue the paper pieces. It sparks imaginative play as they envision their gnome exploring the colorful woods or embarking on adventures in nature.

To get started, simply download the free template and gather a few basic supplies like colored paper, scissors, and glue. Along with the template, we’ve included step-by-step instructions below to show you just how easily this cute idea comes together. 

Supplies

• Colored cardstock or construction paper
• Scissors
• Glue
• Markers (optional)

Directions

Start by downloading the gnome template and printing it out. Once you have the template printed, gather the materials needed for this fun activity. Get those scissors ready, and let’s help the kids bring this gnome to life!

First, guide your child to glue the eyes in the middle of the face, one on each side.

Glue the face piece to the front of the beard, just above the mouth.

Next, encourage your child to glue the nose in the middle of the face, in between the eyes and the mouth.

Place the acorn hat on the top of the gnome’s head and glue it in place.

Take the completed gnome head and glue it to the top of the gnome’s body.

Glue the feet on the bottom of the gnome’s body.

Next, glue the leaf in the middle of the gnome’s body. Optionally, use a brown marker to draw the stem at the base of the leaf.

Finally, help your child to glue the hands on both sides of the leaf, so it looks like the gnome is holding the leaf.
