Beluga Whale Puppet Craft For Kids [Free Template]

Baby Beluga, oh Baby Beluga! Are you thinking about that classic kids’ song now?

Chances are that song is most children’s introduction to Beluga whales. Besides this song, most of the time when kids think of whales they think of Orcas, Blue whales, or even Humpback whales.

But not today! Today we’re all about the Belugas!

Create this Beluga whale puppet craft with your kids or students to teach them more about these amazing white whales.

It’s an easy whale craft for kids that also comes with a printable template.

Paper Bag Beluga Whale Craft

Supplies

  • Brown paper bag
  • Scissors
  • Glue
  • Colored cardstock or construction paper
  • White cardstock
  • Beluga template (enter your email in the form at the end of this post to have the link sent to you)

Directions

Download the Beluga template, print, and cut out the pieces you need.

Optionally: If you want to make it look like the Beluga is in the water, cut a thin strip of blue paper and glue it to the top of the brown paper bag flap. Glue the larger blue rectangle to the main portion of the brown paper bag.

Glue the Beluga head to the flap portion of the brown paper bag.

Position the flippers on either side of the body, around the middle, and glue them to the back of the body.

Finish the puppet by gluing the body onto the blue rectangle.

Make this paper bag Beluga whale craft with the kids for World Ocean Day!

Materials

  • Brown paper bag
  • Scissors
  • Glue
  • Colored cardstock or construction paper
  • White cardstock
  • Beluga template

Instructions

  1. Download the Beluga template, print, and cut out the pieces you need.
  2. Optionally: If you want to make it look like the Beluga is in the water, cut a thin strip of blue paper and glue it to the top of the brown paper bag flap. Glue the larger blue rectangle to the main portion of the brown paper bag.
  3. Glue the Beluga head to the flap portion of the brown paper bag.
