How To Make An Easy Cat In The Hat Craft

Start by downloading the Cat In The Hat template and printing it out. Once you have the template printed, gather the materials needed for this fun activity. Get those scissors ready, and let’s help the kids bring this Cat In The Hat template to life!

Now, it’s time to bring some color into our project. Grab a pencil or a q-tip – we’re going to use the eraser side of the pencil or the cotton end of the q-tip as our paintbrush. Dip it into a small pool of red paint, and then let your kids make dots all around the top, middle, and bottom portions of the hat. Encourage them to explore and have fun with it – there’s no wrong way to dot!

After the hat looks splendidly dotty, don’t forget the bow tie! Let your little ones add dots all over it as well. This part is particularly fun and allows them to get creative with their designs.

Alrighty, now that our paint has dried, it’s time to cut out the pieces. This step requires some adult supervision, so make sure to help your kiddos with the cutting.

It’s assembly time! Start by gluing the body to the front of the cat’s neck.

Take the cat’s white fur and glue it in the middle of the body. Watching the cat come together piece by piece is so exciting!

Next, position the bow tie in the middle of the neck and glue it down.

We’re almost there! Now, let’s glue the hat to the top of the head. And here’s a fun tip – we pulled the ears forward, right on top of the hat, for an extra cute touch. Your kiddo is sure to love this playful detail!
