Whether you’re crafting with toddlers or elementary school kids, this project is simple enough for all ages and allows for tons of creativity in its design. Kids can customize it with their favorite colors and embellish the space scene any way their imagination takes them.

All you need are a few basic supplies plus a photo of your little astronaut. Once you’ve gathered everything, you’re all set to launch into a fun-filled craft session that’s sure to bring smiles.

  • Colored cardstock or construction paper
  • Glue

Directions

Start by downloading the Father’s Day space template and printing it out. Once you have the template printed, gather the materials needed for this fun activity. Get those scissors ready, and let’s help the kids bring this craft to life!

First, decide how you want to decorate the background paper. You can use star stickers, draw on stars, or splatter paint to help it look like space. If you’re using paint, do that first, let dry completely, then move on to the next step.

Guide your child to glue the planet to the bottom part of the background.

Next, help your child to glue the astronaut above the planet.

Position the helmet outline in the middle of the head and glue it down.

Now, place the picture of the child in the center of the helmet outline and secure it with glue.

Finally, encourage your child to glue the helmet decorations to the sides of the astronaut’s head and secure them in place.

Materials

  • Colored cardstock or construction paper
  • Glue
  • Scissors
  • Father’s day space template

Instructions

  1. Download the Father's Day template, print, and cut out the pieces you need.
  2. First, decide how you want to decorate the background paper. You can use star stickers, draw on stars, or splatter paint to help it look like space. If you're using paint, do that first, let dry completely, then move on to the next step.
  3. Begin by gluing the planet to the bottom part of the background.
  4. Next, glue the astronaut above the planet.
  5. Position the helmet outline and glue it to the head of the astronaut.
  6. Place the picture of the child in the center of the helmet outline and glue it in place.
  7. Finally, glue the helmet decorations to the sides of the astronaut’s head and glue them in place.
