Brown Paper Bag Gingerbread Man

One great thing about making paper bag puppets is they’re so simple to make! All you need are a few common supplies, which you probably already have and you’re set.
They’re a cheap Christmas craft kids will enjoy making.
Supplies
- Kraft paper
- Colored card stock (in pink, red, green and yellow)
- White card stock
- Black marker
- Scissors
- Glue stick (this one has the strongest hold)
- Brown paper bag
- Gingerbread man template (download form located at the end of the page)
Directions
Download the gingerbread man template, print, and cut out the pieces.
Glue the circle buttons to the middle of the gingerbread man’s body.
Use the black marker to draw four small circles on the circle buttons you just glued on to make it look more like a real button.
Glue the icing details on the end of the arms and the legs. Use the scissors to cut the excess ends off.
Position the gingerbread man’s hair and the top of his circle head and glue into place.
Glue the eyes just below the hair.
Place the pink circle cheeks below the eyes and glue in place.
Use the black marker again to draw a smile between the two pink cheeks.
If you’re making a girl gingerbread, glue the bow onto the top of her head. If you’re making a boy gingerbread, glue the bow to the top of his body piece.
Glue the completed gingerbread body to the lower part of the brown paper bag.
Glue the completed head to the flap of the brown paper bag.
Isn’t this one of the cutest and simplest Christmas crafts for kids?
We just love how cute they turned out!
Gingerbread Man Template Options
Like many of our other crafts, we have two different options in our template download.
If you’re doing this craft with several children, you’ll want to use the first template included. These pages have the pieces separated on each page by the color paper you need to print them on.
By using this version you’ll only need to cut once, so there’s less work involved.

The second one has all the small template pieces on one page. Use this one if you’re doing this craft with one or two children.
You’ll need to print the template out on white card stock, cut the pieces out, then trace them onto the colored paper that you want to use.
Don’t forget to download the template by entering your info in the form at the end of the post.

Gingerbread Man Themed Family Night
If your family loves to get together and have fun, having a simple gingerbread man themed get-together would be a perfect holiday activity!
You can easily make it adaptable for all ages of children and adults.

We suggest getting your favorite gingerbread man children’s book to start off the night. Read the story to get into the holiday spirit then move on to the activities!
