Make this cute handprint bunny craft for Easter, spring time or when learning about rabbits!
Since spring is almost here, we’re beginning to share all of our favorite handprint Easter crafts.
Kids think it’s magical seeing their hands transform into these cute bunnies and parents love preserving their little one’s handprints for a lifetime! That makes this craft one of the best activities for kids to make for springtime or Easter.
This craft is a great activity for kids of all ages, from toddlers all the way up to elementary-aged children.
You’ll only need a few basic supplies, plus it comes with a free printable template so you can recreate it with ease at home.
Read on below to see how simple it is to make with your kids or students.
Printable Bunny Craft Idea

We can’t seem to make enough handprint crafts for kids, but this one takes the cuteness to a whole new level!
Your kids can use any colored cardstock that they want, so each bunny is unique and special. If you’re doing this craft for Easter, we’d suggest sticking to a pastel color or the traditional white Easter bunny.
You can do the inner ear the color of your choice as well, but I find that darker shades of the bunny’s main fur color look best.
However your child decides to make this bunny craft, we’re sure they’ll love it!
Supplies
- Colored card stock or construction paper
- Glue stick (this one is my favorite for heavy paper)
- Pencil
- White pipe cleaners
- Pink pom poms
- Glue dots
- Scissors
- Bunny template (enter your email in the form at the end of the post to have the link sent to you)
Directions
Download the bunny template and print it onto the colored card stock or construction paper of your choice. Cut out the pieces.

Place the cheeks below the eyes and glue one on each side.

Trace your child’s hand twice onto colored card stock that is the same color as your bunny’s head. Cut out the handprints.
Take the bunny’s inner ear and glue it onto the base of your child’s handprint. Repeat for both ears.

Once you’ve completed the ears, glue them to the back of the bunny’s head with the fingers pointed up.

Glue the pink pom pom nose onto the bunny’s face with a glue dot. You can also use a glue stick, but it’s harder to get to stick and the pom pom fluff will get all over the glue stick.

Twist 3 white pipe cleaners together to make the whiskers. Glue them just below the bunny’s nose with another glue dot, then trim to the length your child wants.

That’s all there is to making this simple Easter bunny craft for kids!

Adaptations & Substitutions
If you stumbled upon this craft and you don’t have pom poms or pipe cleaners, don’t worry! Instead, you can draw on a nose and whiskers with some markers.
Using markers is also a simple way of cutting down the cost of this craft, although it’s already quite inexpensive. It also helps save time when you have a large number of kids doing this craft at once.
If you’re making this craft with several young children (like in a daycare or preschool setting), we have a few tips to help it go smoothly.

First, have all the pieces cut out and ready to go. This is especially recommended for children who don’t have proficient scissors skills yet.
Second, we suggest having all the pipe cleaners cut to size and pre-twisted. This way all the kids need to do is glue all the pieces together.
Don’t forget that you’ll have to help the children trace and cut their handprints out, so plan the time for that accordingly.
Lastly, we suggest you use only glue sticks and not glue bottles. In our experience young children either have too much difficulty squeezing glue out of the bottles or squeeze way too hard and end up with a giant mess!
Either way, glue sticks that dry clear solve the problem and cause less clean-up in the end.
Easily make these at home or in your classroom with our free printable template! Just enter your email in the form at the end of the page.
More Easter Activities For Kids
There are so many great Easter books for kids, but these are some of our favorites. Grab them from the library or buy them to add to your child’s collection! They’re great for helping your child develop a larger vocabulary, focus, and more!
Happy Easter Mouse – Everyone knows Mouse from the classic If You Give A Mouse A Cookie book, but now he’s back and ready to celebrate Easter! Kids will love watching him as he goes on an Easter egg hunt!
Pete the Cat: Big Easter Adventure – Join Pete as he races to help the Easter bunny just in time for Easter! This is another new classic kids rate as a must-have!
It’s Not Easy Being A Bunny – Follow PJ the bunny as he tries to discover what kind of animal he’d rather be instead of a bunny! It’s a silly story with a great lesson.

Add in more crafts to help kids practice scissor skills, follow directions, and more. Below are some of our favorite Easter crafts:
Enjoy some fun this Easter with these Easter color by number pages. This is a great way to help them learn counting and number recognition, as well as improve their fine motor skills.
If sensory play is one of your kid’s favorite try out this Easter sensory bin. It’s great for kids who love exploratory play and who are working on color matching. This Easter play dough kit is another fun option!
