Glue the yellow beak to the front of the flamingo’s head, just in front of the eye.
Position your child’s handprint with the thumb facing the top and the fingers on the right.
Secure the flamingo’s neck to the handprint by gluing the neck to the back of the handprint, next to the thumb.
Glue the two legs to the bottom and back of the handprint card.
Open the card up and write a special message.
That’s all you need to do to create your own summery flamingo card!

Adapting This Craft For Kindergarten Classrooms
Depending on the skill level of the children in your class, there are a few ways to make this fun craft even easier for kids to do on their own.
If you want to make this craft as simple as possible, make sure to cut out all the flamingo necks, beaks, and leg pieces ahead of time. This way all the students need to do is glue the pieces to their handprint cards.
We would also suggest having the pink card stock prefolded and ready to go for tracing handprints.
If you just want to make this activity a craft and not a card, you can skip the folding and trace the child’s handprint onto a single sheet of paper.
You will need to have an adult help trace each child’s hand onto the pink paper so be sure to plan for this.
How To Add In More Art
If you would like to make this craft have more of a hands-on art aspect you can print the template and trace the child’s handprint onto white card stock instead of the pink paper.
This way the child can color or paint the paper pink (or any color they choose) and make their card unique!
You can even take it another step further by gluing on pink craft feathers or pink tissue paper squares to give it a 3D effect.
