Halloween is a great time to get crafty with the kids, and this handprint mummy craft is a perfect project for little ones. Since it’s made from paper, it’s quick and easy to make, and there’s no messy paint involved.

Plus, this fun mummy craft is super cute and comes with a free template to download. Just print out the template, trace your child’s handprints onto the paper, and glue it all together.

Supplies

Directions

Start by downloading the template and printing it out. Once you have the template printed, gather the materials needed for this fun activity. Get those scissors ready, and let’s help the kids bring this mummy to life!

Trace your child’s hand onto a colored piece of paper and cut it out.

First, guide your child to place the handprint with the fingers facing downward. Take a couple of the mummy strips and glue them around the palm section of the hand.

If you want, color in the mummy’s eyes. Take the eyes and glue them in the middle of the palm.

Next, help your child to keep gluing the mummy wrap pieces all over the handprint. Make sure to leave at least some of the eyes peeking out. Use scissors to trim the mummy wrap pieces between the fingers and the thumb.

Create the mummy’s mouth by gluing the tongue to the bottom of the mouth.

Finally, encourage your child to place the completed mouth in the middle of the hand, just below the eyes, and glue it in place.

Handprint Mummy Craft For Kids

Halloween is a great time to get crafty with the kids, and this handprint mummy craft is a perfect project for little ones.

Materials

  • Colored cardstock or construction paper
  • Scissors
  • Pencil
  • Glue
  • Markers or crayons optional
  • Mummy template

Instructions

  • Download the mummy template, print, and cut out the pieces you need.
  • Trace your child’s hand onto a colored piece of paper and cut it out.
  • Begin by placing the handprint with the fingers facing downward. Take a couple of the mummy strips and glue them around the palm section of the hand.
  • If you want, color in the mummy’s eyes. Take the eyes and glue them in the middle of the palm.
  • Next, keep gluing the mummy wrap pieces all over the handprint. Make sure to leave at least some of the eyes peeking out.
  • Use scissors to trim the mummy wrap pieces between the fingers and the thumb.
  • Create the mummy’s mouth by gluing the tongue to the bottom of the mouth.
  • Place the completed mouth in the middle of the hand, just below the eyes, and glue it in place.
