This is a great companion activity when learning about this piece of American history. It’s also a great opportunity to hone kids’ fine motor skills as they cut and paste their little Johnny together.
Get started by downloading our free editable template and gather a few basic supplies like scissors, glue, and colored paper. The template makes it easy for kids to create their Johnny Appleseed character with just a few simple steps!

Directions
Start by downloading the Johnny Appleseed template and printing it out. Once you have the template printed, gather the materials needed for this fun activity. Get those scissors ready, and let’s help the kids bring this character to life!
First, guide your child to glue the eyes just below each of the eyebrows and secure them with glue.
Next, glue the hair on the top portion of the face.
Now, place the white shirt on the middle part of the body and glue it in place.
Glue the blue pants to the lower part of the body.
Position the red vest on the body and glue it in place.
Now, help your child glue the pan hat to the top of the hair.
Finally, encourage your child to glue the apple beside the arm.
