Supplies
- Colored card stock (in dark blue, blue, red, black, gray, and yellow)
- Glue stick
- Scissors
- Black marker
- Minion template (click the “click here to get this freebie” image at the end to open the form)
Directions
Start by downloading the minion template and printing it out. Once you have the template printed, gather the materials needed for this fun activity. Get those scissors ready, and let’s help the kids bring this minion template to life!
Now, take the yellow paper and show your child how to fold it in half along the dashed line. This will form the base of the greeting card.
Next, guide your child in positioning the Minion’s overalls on the bottom of the folded card. Use glue to secure them in place.
Help your child stick the overall pocket right in the center of the overalls. This is where our Minion keeps his banana!
Encourage your child to use a black marker to draw the overall’s buttons. A few details go a long way!
Help your child glue the two Minion goggles toward the top of the page. Our Minion needs to see all the fun!
Show your child how to place the heart glasses (with the knobs towards the outside of the card) on top of each gray goggle. Use glue to stick them down. Our Minion is becoming stylish now!
Help your child place the black inner glasses in the middle of the red hearts and secure them with glue. Now our Minion can see everything through heart-shaped glasses!
Let your child cut out a small heart and stick it next to the Minion’s lips. Or, they can use a pink marker to draw a heart.
If any pieces of the overalls are hanging off the edge of the card, help your child trim them off.
Finally, encourage your child to open up the card and write a special message. It could be a fun joke, a sweet wish, or just a friendly hello.

Make This Craft In The Classroom
We’ve made this minion card easy to make with our free printable template. Inside the template, the second part of it makes it easy to use with groups of kids.
Instead of printing on white cardstock, you’ll print the pieces individually on the colored paper that’s listed on the bottom. This way, you don’t need to trace and cut out twice. Kids are obsessed with paper crafts made with bright colors, so this is always a fun option!
If you’re doing this craft with kids who can use scissors well, then you can let the kids cut out the pieces they need and you won’t have any prep work.
If you’re doing it with younger kids who can’t cut out details, you’ll need to have them precut in order to do this craft.
We also want to mention that if you can’t use yellow card stock, you can always substitute with yellow construction paper (blue construction paper, black construction paper, and other colored paper will also work for the details).
You could also print the card base out on white paper and have the kids paint or use markers to make it yellow.
