Easy Monkey Craft

This craft would be a great addition to when kids are learning about animals at the zoo or in the jungle. Kids love how playful and curious these agile animals are, so don’t miss a chance to practice essential skills with a subject that’s interesting to them!
When kids craft their own monkey, they’ll get some practice with using scissors and applying glue. This craft will also help kids develop fine motor skills and follow directions while transforming recycled materials.
Supplies
- Colored cardstock or construction paper
- Scissors
- Glue
- Tape
- Crayons or markers (if using the color in version)
- Glue dot (optional)
- Monkey template (enter your email in the form at the end of the post to get the template)
Directions
Download the template, print, and cut out the pieces you need.
Begin by gluing the belly to the middle and bottom part of the monkey’s body.
Take the arms and position them, one on each side of the belly, and glue them so they’re facing inward.
Place a piece of tape on one end of the body and attach it to the toilet paper tube. Place a 2nd piece of tape on the opposite end of the body, wrap the body around the tube, and tape it in place.
Next, make the head by gluing the face to the middle of the head.
Glue the eyes underneath both of the eyebrows.
Place glue or a glue dot on the bottom and middle of the monkey’s head and glue it to the top of the toilet tube.
Next, take the feet and glue the inside of the feet to the front and bottom of the monkey’s body.
Finish up by folding the straight end of the monkey’s tail back. Place glue on the folded portion of the tail and glue it to the side and back of the monkey’s body.
