Supplies

Directions

Download the sun face template, print it on orange paper, and cut it out.

Take the paper plate and paint 2-3 thin coats of yellow paint all over it. Let it dry completely before you move on to the next step.

If you need to rush, don’t forget you can also use a hairdryer to speed up the process (we do this all the time when we’re short on time).

You can also use a yellow party plate instead of a white plate. We prefer to have kids paint the white paint because kids love it and it helps them learn to handle a paintbrush!

Once the plate is completely dry, glue the sun’s face to the middle of the plate.

Flip the paper plate over and begin drawing the outline of a sun on the backside with a pencil. By doing this on the back, you won’t have to worry about messing up the paint and not cutting perfectly on the lines.

If your child is very young, you’ll likely need to draw on the lines for them. If they can use scissors well, they can cut out the sun shape by themselves.

Cut out along the outlines you made to create your adorable sun!
