Our easy to follow template will help kids transform a cute gnome into a little buccaneer. Only a handful of supplies are needed, so it’s a quick activity to pull together for something fun to do this summer.
This fun activity offers several developmental benefits as children cut, glue, and assemble their little pirate gnomes. They’ll enhance their fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, and creativity all while making a masterpiece.
Supplies
- Colored cardstock or construction paper
- Glue
- Scissors
- Markers
- Ruler

Directions
Start by downloading the pirate gnome template and printing it out. Once you have the template printed, gather the materials needed for this fun activity. Get those scissors ready, and let’s help the kids bring this gnome to life!
First, guide your child to glue the eye patch to the bottom of the left eyebrow.
Next, encourage your child to draw a straight line on the top of the eye patch to create the strap.
Now, glue the beard below to the back and bottom of the face.
Position the nose at the bottom of the eye and eye patch, then glue it between them.
Glue the red scarf to the top portion of the head.
Place the black hat on top of the red scarf and glue it in place.
Next, glue the pirate logo to the center of the black hat.
Attach the blue pants to the bottom portion of the body and glue it in place.
Create the shirt by gluing the two white lines on the black paper.
Now, glue the head to the top portion of the shirt.
Glue the shoes on the lower portion of the pants
Place the treasure chest in the center of the body and glue it in place.
Finally, help your child glue the hands on both sides of the treasure chest.
