Elmerโs Magical Liquid Notes
While Elmerโs magical liquid makes itย super simple to make slime at home with your kids, there are a few things to keep in mind.ย
The bottle says to mix 1/4 cup of magical liquid to a 4, 5 or 6 oz bottle of Elmerโs glue. You totally can use just 1/4 cup of the magical liquid,ย butย this will make aย very sticky slime.ย

Iโm not sure why they suggest such a small amount, because when you use that amount the slime will stick all over your hands and is much messier than the other types of slime recipes weโve shared.ย
If thatโs what youโre going after, go to town; youโre all set!ย
If, however, you like a less sticky slime you will need to add more magical liquid to your glue. We suggest mixing an additional 1 tablespoon at a time until the slime reaches the desired consistency.ย
Because we like a non-sticky slime, we usually end up adding an additional 1/4 cup, making it 1/2 cup magical liquid in total.ย

Donโt forget, you can also substitute a 1/2 tablespoon of baking soda and 1 1/2 tablespoons of contact solution (it must contain boric acid) in place of the magical liquid.ย
Slime Safety Notes
Adult supervision is needed when kids are playing with slime.ย
This type of slime isย not edible. If any part of the slime is ingested, contact your doctor immediately.ย

Parents or another adult should make the slime. This type of slime should not be used with children 3 and younger or any child who may try to eat the slime.ย
If your child has sensitive skin, use gloves while playing with the slime or watch them to be sure the slime isnโt irritating to the skin.ย
Always have your child wash their hands after playing with slime.

About how much does 1 bottle of glue make? It says it makes โ1 batchโ, but not sure how big of a batch that is. Iโm going to make these as party favors, using 4 oz jars so trying to gauge how much supplies to buy.
Hmm, it’s been a while since I made this, so I can’t remember. In my mind, I would say it’s enough for 2 kids, if they don’t want a lot. When I made it, I made a batch for each kids.
