Lately, we’ve been on a winter craft extravaganza!

Since Christmas is nearing an end, we want to replace all of our Christmas kids’ crafts with winter crafts!

So far we’ve made a footprint penguin craft, played with a polar bear memory game, made a walrus arctic animal craft, and last week, made a cool window cling snowman craft.

Today, we’re sharing how to make a puffy paint snowglobe craft using cardstock and homemade puffy paint!

Snowglobe Craft For Kids

This puffy paint craft is so much fun for kids to make and use, plus it’s so simple to whip up!

Supplies:

• Colored cardstock or construction paper
• Elmer’s Glue
• Shaving cream
• Paintbrush
• Scissors
• Fork
• Snowglobe template (enter your email in the form at the end of this post to have the link sent to you)

Directions:

Make the homemade puffy paint by mixing equal parts shaving cream and Elmer’s glue in a bowl.  An 1/8 cup of each was more than enough to cover 2 snowglobes. You’ll know it’s the perfect consistency when it looks like marshmallow fluff.

Print out the template for home or school depending on how many copies you need. Cut out all the pieces.

Start by gluing the star to the top of the tree.

Next, glue the ornaments all over the tree.

Finish up the tree by gluing the trunk to the bottom and back of the tree.

Create the snowglobe by gluing the snowglobe base to the ball.

Place the completed Christmas tree in the middle of the snowglobe ball and glue it in place.

Take the puffy paint and paint a bunch of snow on the bottom of the snowglobe and snowflakes all around the snowglobe ball.

That’s it! My kids enjoyed making these puffy paint snowglobes, but what they liked, even more, was feeling the puffy paint after it dried! It’s so fun to poke and prod at since it dries squishy and foamy.
