Paper Plate Pumpkin Idea
This is a fun project to get creative with either at home, in the classroom, or at daycare. It’s perfect for young artists because it combines painting, cutting, and pasting, which are all fantastic activities for developing fine motor skills and encouraging creativity.

Supplies
- Paper plate
- Paint
- Paintbrush
- Black marker
- Bold & Bright Crayola markers
- Colored cardstock or construction paper
- Glue stick
- Scissors
- Pumpkin template (click the “click here to get your freebies” image at the end of the post)
Directions
Start by downloading the template and printing it out. Once the template is printed, gather the materials for this fun activity. Get those scissors ready, and let’s help the kids bring this pumpkin to life!

First, encourage your child to paint the paper plate with 1-2 thin coats of orange paint. Let it try completely before moving on to the next step.

Trace the pumpkin shape on the paper plate and cut it out.

Draw the vertical lines on the pumpkin with an orange marker.

Next, help your child glue the stem to the back and top portion of the pumpkin.

Glue the eyes in the middle portion of the face.

Now, glue the mouth below the eyes.

Place the tongue on the bottom portion of the mouth and glue it in place.

Next, glue the cheeks below each of the eyes.

Finally, guide your child to draw the eyebrows on top of the eyes.
