Directions

Start by downloading the template and printing it out. Once the template is printed, gather the materials for this fun activity. Get those scissors ready, and let’s help the kids bring this pumpkin to life!

First, encourage your child to paint the paper plate with 1-2 thin coats of orange paint. Let it try completely before moving on to the next step.

Trace the pumpkin shape on the paper plate and cut it out.

Draw the vertical lines on the pumpkin with an orange marker.

Next, help your child glue the stem to the back and top portion of the pumpkin.

Glue the eyes in the middle portion of the face.

Now, glue the mouth below the eyes.

Place the tongue on the bottom portion of the mouth and glue it in place.

Next, glue the cheeks below each of the eyes.

Finally, guide your child to draw the eyebrows on top of the eyes.

Paper Plate Pumpkin Craft

Your little pumpkins will be excited to create this paper plate pumpkin craft.

Materials

  • Paper plate
  • Paint
  • Paintbrush
  • Black marker
  • Bold & Bright Crayola markers
  • Colored cardstock or construction paper
  • Glue stick
  • Scissors
  • Pumpkin template

Instructions

  1. Download the pumpkin template, print, and cut out the pieces you need.
  2. Begin by painting the paper plate with 1-2 thin coats of orange paint. Let it try completely before moving on to the next step.
  3. Trace the pumpkin shape on the paper plate and cut it out.
  4. Draw the vertical lines on the pumpkin with an orange marker.
  5. Next, glue the stem to the back and top portion of the pumpkin.
  6. Glue the eyes in the middle portion of the face.
  7. Now, glue the mouth below the eyes.
  8. Place the tongue on the bottom portion of the mouth and glue it in place.
