One of our favorite craft types to make for kids are headband crafts! They’re not only fun for children to create, but they also love wearing them when they’re done.

If your child is learning about outer space or having a space-themed birthday party, this rocket ship headband craft is a great option!

Download the free printable template to make it from paper or print it out in black and white to have the kids color them in.

This activity is perfect for preschool, kindergarten, and elementary-aged children.

How To Make A Rocket Headband

Supplies

  • Colored cardstock or construction paper
  • Scissors
  • Tape
  • Glue
  • Markers or crayons (if using color in version)
  • Rocket ship template (enter your email in the form at the end of this post to have the link sent to you)

Directions

Download the rocket ship template, print, and cut out the pieces you need.

Create the rocket by gluing the tip to the top of the rocket base. Trim off any excess paper that hangs off the rocketship.

Make the window by gluing the window piece to the window frame. Take the completed window and glue it to the middle of the rocketship.

Create the flames by gluing the yellow inner flame to outer red flame. Glue the completed flame to the bottom and back of the ship.

Next, glue the fins on either side of the bottom and back of the ship base.

Finish off the ship by gluing the middle fin to the bottom of the ship.

Take the completed rocketship and glue it to the headband base. Use tape to attach a headband extender to both sides of the headband base.

That’s it! Now let your child wear this fun space headband!

Materials

  • Colored cardstock or construction paper

Instructions

  • Download the rocket ship template, print, and cut out the pieces you need.
  • Create the rocket by gluing the tip to the top of the rocket base. Trim off any excess paper that hangs off the rocketship.

    1. If you’re not able to see it, it most likely means you have a firewall or adblocker blocking it from appearing.
