I spend approximately 87.5% of my day preparing food.
First, it’s cereal with a small sprinkle of raisins on top. Then it’s some fruit chunks. Next, it’s 2 chicken thighs and a pile of green beans with a side of leftover sweet potato fries.
And all before 10:30 am!
My almost 2-year-old is a garbage disposal on two legs. I can’t ever satisfy his appetite, no matter what he eats.
One day, after I had fed him breakfast and packed him his “after breakfast snacks” (that really is a thing in our house), we headed to the local library. As I was strolling through the aisle I picked up a book the perfect story for his life so far: The Very Hungry Caterpillar.
We promptly checked out the book and brought it home to read.
And as is such the case for toddlers, we read it 5 times within 20 minutes. Each time I read the story to him I chuckled when I thought about the similarities between these two vastly different little creatures.
After about a week and 243 more pages read, I knew this book would make the perfect 2nd birthday theme for my little guy. So I created this adorable and slightly more modern invitation for a very hungry caterpillar party!
The Very Hungry Caterpillar Invitations
One thing I love about the Very Hungry Caterpillar are all the colors in the book. It’s the perfect palette for young children since it’s so vibrant and fun.
I incorporated lots of bright color into the party, starting off with the invitation:
