Materials

  • Mini popsicle sticks
  • Regular sized popsicle sticks
  • Paint
  • Paintbrush
  • Colored cardstock or construction paper
  • Scissors
  • Glue sticks
  • Bat template

Instructions

  • Download the bat template, print, and cut out the pieces you need.
  • Cut a popsicle stick in half with the scissors. Line up 5 mini popsicle sticks evenly. Stretch out two glue dots to go onto the back of each of the cut popsicle sticks. Use this to secure the 5 popsicle sticks together.
  • If you don't want to use glue dots, replace them with hot glue and do the same steps as above.
  • Paint the popsicle sticks in 1-2 thin coats of black paint. Let it dry completely.
  • Position the popsicle sticks so they're facing up and down. Take the ears and glue them to the top corners of the popsicle sticks.
  • Glue the eyes in the middle of the popsicle sticks, just below the ears.
  • Create the mouth by gluing the fangs to the mouth. Next, glue this in the middle of the bat, just under the eyes.
  • Finish off by gluing the bat wings, one on each side, to the back of the popsicle sticks.
