Materials

  • Colored cardstock or construction paper
  • Scissors
  • Glue
  • Butterfly template

Instructions

  • Download the butterfly template, print, and cut out the pieces you need.
  • Start by gluing the butterfly's head to the top of the body.
  • Place both of the eyes above the mouth and glue them in place.
  • Next, take the body stripes and glue them on the body. Trim off any paper that hangs off the sides.
  • Create the butterfly's wings by gluing one oval at an angle to the other oval. Repeat with the other side of the wings.
  • Glue the butterfly's body in the middle of the two wings.
  • Next, take the oval butterfly wing decoration and glue it to the top part of both wings.
  • Position the circle butterfly wing decoration on the bottom of the wings and glue them in place.
  • Finish up by gluing the antennae to the top and back of the butterfly's head.
