Materials

  • Colored cardstock or construction paper
  • Scissors
  • Glue stick
  • White paint pen or Crayola Bold & Bright marker
  • Cardinal template

Instructions

  • Download the cardinal template, print it, and cut out the pieces you need.
  • Begin by gluing the head spot to the right side of the head.
  • Next, glue the eye to the center of the head spot.
  • Now, place the beak on the right side of the eye and glue it to the back.
  • Trace your child’s hand on the red paper, cut it out, and glue it to the center of the cardinal's body with thumbs pointed up and fingers pointed outward.
  • Create the tree by gluing one branch vertically along the left side of the background paper. Now, glue the second branch horizontally. Optionally, glue the third, smaller branch somewhere below the other horizontal branch.
  • Use a white paint pen or Bold & Bright marker to draw snowflakes around the background paper.
  • Finish off by gluing the bird to the top horizontal branch.
