Materials

  • Colored cardstock or construction paper
  • Scissors
  • Glue stick
  • Elf template

Instructions

  • Download the elf template, print, and cut out the pieces you need.
  • Begin to create the elf's head by gluing the hair to the top of the head.
  • Next, glue the eyes on either side of the nose.
  • Take the mouth and glue it in the middle of the head, just below the nose.
  • Finish off the face, by gluing the cheeks just below and slightly outside of the eyes.
  • Create the elf's hat by gluing the hat trim to the bottom of the hat. Glue the bell to the tip of the hat.
  • Glue the elf hat to the top of the elf's head.
  • Take the completed elf head and glue it on a piece of colored paper (the same paper you're using for the background). Cut it out, leaving a small outline around the head.
  • Gather your elf writing prompt and piece of colored paper and glue the prompt in the middle of the paper and about .5" from the bottom.
  • Next, take the outlined elf head and glue it to the top of the writing prompt.
  • Create the elf's arms by gluing the mittens to the arms. Then glue the arms to the main piece of paper, one on either side of the elf's head. Cut off any excess paper that hangs off the sides.
