Materials

  • Colored cardstock
  • Scissors
  • Glue
  • Markers
  • Star punch optional
  • Flag template

Instructions

  • Download the flag card template, print it, and cut out the pieces you need.
  • Begin by placing the red stripes evenly along the front of the card, gluing them in place and trimming off any excess paper.
  • Glue the star section of the card onto the blue rectangle.
  • Next, glue the completed star section to the top left portion of the card.
  • Place the toungue to the bottom of the mouth and glue it down.
  • Optionally: Cut 2 small, thin, rectangular strips of scrap pieces of paper to fit behind the eyes and the mouthpieces. Fold the rectangle onto itself to end up with a thick square. Glue it to the back of the eyes and the mouth. This will help give the card more dimension and is optional.
  • Take the mouth and glue it to the middle and bottom of the flag.
  • Now, take the eyes and glue them just above the mouth.
  • Finish off by drawing the eyebrows above each eye and write a fun message inside.
