Materials

  • Paper Plate
  • Brown Paint
  • Paint Brush
  • Colored cardstock or construction paper
  • Scissors
  • Glue
  • Markers
  • Gingerbread House Template

Instructions

  • Download the gingerbread house template, print, and cut out the pieces you need.
  • Paint the paper plate with 1-2 thin coats of brown paint. Let the plate dry completely, then cut off a small portion of the top of the paper plate so it's straight instead of round. This will be the bottom of the house.
  • Position the paper plate with the cut side down. Begin by gluing the door to the middle and bottom of the paper plate.
  • Glue the Christmas tree on the left side of the door.
  • Attach the snow to the bottom part of both sides of the gingerbread house.
  • Place the window on the right side of the paper plate, just near the door. Then attach the snow on top of it.
  • Place the star decoration just above the door, then glue it down.
  • Take the sprinkle-covered roof and glue it to the top of the paper plate.
  • Finish the gingerbread house by placing the candy on the peak of the roof.
