Materials

  • Colored cardstock
  • White cardstock or paper
  • Scissors
  • Glue stick
  • Gingerbread template

Instructions

  • Download the gingerbread template, print, and cut out the pieces you need.
  • Create the gingerbread face by gluing the eyes in the middle of the face, just above the mouth.
  • Next, take the cheeks and glue them on either side of the mouth.
  • Take the icing hair and glue it to the top of the head, just above the eyes. Trim off any excess paper from the top.
  • Glue the bow to the top of the head for a girl or below the smile for a boy.
  • Place the completed gingerbread boy or girl on a colored piece of paper and glue it down. Cut out, leaving a border around the gingerbread head.
  • Position the writing prompt in the middle of a blank colored paper (the same as the background of the head) and leave a larger gap at the top of the paper to have room to glue the head in place. Glue it down.
  • Place the gingerbread head at the top of the writing prompt paper and glue it down.
  • Create the gingerbread arms by gluing the icing decorations near the end of the hand.
  • Take the hands and glue them to each of the top corners of the writing prompt paper.
  • Finish off by completing the writing prompt.
