Materials

  • Colored cardstock or construction paper
  • Scissors
  • Glue stick
  • Markers
  • Pencil
  • Giraffe template

Instructions

  • Download the giraffe template, print, and cut out the pieces you need.
  • Trace your child's hand onto a piece of paper and cut it out. Arrange the handprint with the fingers pointing down and the thumb on the right side. Glue the giraffe body to the top and back of the palm side of the handprint.
  • Optionally: cut some pieces out of the flat side of the giraffe's neck hair and the bottom of the giraffe's tail hair.
  • Place the giraffe's hair to the back and right side of the neck and glue it in place.
  • Next, take the ossicones and glue them to the back and top of the giraffe's head.
  • Glue the tail hair to the end of the thumb.
  • Position the eye just above the mouth and glue it in place. Use a marker to draw a cheek just below the eye.
  • Use a brown marker to draw on the end of the giraffe's nose, then draw spots all over the giraffe's body.
