This Groundhog name craft is a great way for kids to practice spelling their name and learn about what it means if the groundhog sees its shadow.

Colored cardstock or construction paper
Scissors

Groundhog template
Instructions
Download the groundhog template, edit it to add your child(ren)'s name, print, and cut out the pieces you need.
Begin to make the groundhog's head by gluing the eyes on the head, on both sides of the nose.
Take the tooth and glue it in the middle of the mouth, just below the smile line.
Now, glue the belly to the bottom and middle of the groundhog's body.
Next, glue the completed groundhog to the middle of the hole.
Using the dirt letters, spell the name along the bottom of the hole and glue them in place.
Notes
Use Adobe Reader to enter the letters for your child's name into the individual dirt clods.
