Materials

  • Colored cardstock or construction paper
  • Scissors
  • Glue stick
  • Pencil
  • Parrot template

Instructions

  • Download the parrot template, print, and cut out the pieces you need.
  • Begin by tracing your child's handprint onto a piece of colored paper the same color as the bird's body. Cut it out and glue it to the back of the parrot's head with the fingers pointed up and slightly to the right.
  • Next, glue the eye spot to the middle of the head.
  • Take the eye and glue it to the left side of the eye spot.
  • Place the beak just to the left of the eye and glue it in place.
  • Create the wing by gluing the top wing to the bottom wing, then take the finished wing and glue it below the parrot's eye.
  • Finish off the parrot by gluing the two feet in front of the wing, on the bottom of the bird's body.
