Materials

  • Colored cardstock or construction paper
  • Scissors
  • Tape
  • Glue
  • Markers
  • Humpback whale template

Instructions

  • Download the humpback whale template, print, and cut out the pieces you need.
  • Take the eyes and glue them just above and outside the whale's smile.
  • Position the whale's cheek just below the eye and glue them in place.
  • Use a grayish blue marker to draw curved lines along the belly. Next, glue the completed belly just below the mouth.
  • Use a dark blue marker to draw spots along the top side of the whales' head.
  • Tape a headband extender on each side of the base of the headband.
  • Place the headband on your child's head to determine the size, then tape it closed to form a circle.
  • Finish off by taping the whale's fluke to the back, inside of the headband.
