Materials

  • Colored cardstock or construction paper
  • Scissors
  • Glue
  • Markers
  • Ice cream template

Instructions

  • Download the ice cream template, print, and cut out the pieces you need.
  • Take the ice cream cone and use a brown marker to draw horizontal and vertical lines to make it look like a waffle cone.
  • Trace your child's hand onto a piece of colored paper and cut it out. Position the handprint with the fingers down, then glue the chocolate syrup to the base of the hand.
  • Next, glue the eyes to the middle of the palm, one on each side.
  • Use a black marker to draw a smile just under the eyes.
  • Glue the cherry to the top and middle of the hand. Optionally: Cut a small sliver of brown or black paper and glue it to the back of the cherry to look like the stem.
  • Finish by gluing the handprint, fingers down onto the top of the cone.
