Materials

  • Contact paper
  • Tissue paper squares
  • White cardstock
  • Permanent marker
  • Scissors
  • Double-sided tape
  • Jellyfish template

Instructions

  • Download the jellyfish template, print, and cut out the pieces.
  • Take 2 pieces of contact paper that are larger than the jellyfish's body. Peel off the paper from one of them and place it, sticky side up on the table. If you're doing this with young children, take some tape and tape the corners of the contact paper to the table so they don't accidentally pull up the contact paper if they touch it.
  • Begin placing the tissue paper squares on the contact paper. Make sure it is only 1 layer thick so the other contact paper can stick to it. If your child does more than 1 layer thick, you'll want to add a clear border along the outline of the body so the contact paper sticks together.
  • When all the tissue paper is placed on the contact paper, have an adult peel off the second contact paper and place it sticky side down on top of the tissue paper.
  • Place the jellyfish body on the contact paper, trace it with the marker, then cut it out.
  • Repeat the above steps for the jellyfish's tentacles, but instead, trace the tentacles 5 times on the contact paper and cut them out.
  • Next, use double-sided tape to secure the eyes to the head. Then draw a smile underneath the eyes.
  • Finish up by using double-sided tape to attach the tentacles to the back of the suncatcher.
  • Stick a piece of double-sided tape along the back of the body of the jellyfish and tape it to your window!
