Materials

  • Popsicle sticks
  • Glue dots permanent or hot glue
  • Paint
  • Paintbrush
  • 1 cm pom poms
  • Markers
  • Glue stick
  • Scissors
  • Colored cardstock or construction paper
  • Leprechaun template

Instructions

  • Start by downloading the template, print it out, and cut out the pieces you need.
  • Begin by lining up 4 popsicle sticks together. Cut another popsicle stick into 3 small enough pieces to be able to go across all 4 lined up sticks. Use a glue dot to glue the 3 cut popsicle stick pieces to the top, middle, and bottom of the lined up sticks. Alternatively, you can also use hot glue to glue them on.
  • Take the popsicle sticks you glued together and paint about 2/3 of the sticks with a skin colored paint for the face and 1/3 with a green for the leprechaun's clothes. Let dry completely before moving on.
  • Take the hair and glue it to the top portion of the skin colored paint section.
  • Glue the beard where the skin and green paint meet.
  • Place the eyes in the middle of the leprechaun's face and glue them down.
  • Use a black marker to draw a smile between the eyes and the top of the beard.
  • Position a pink pom pom just below and in between the eyes and glue it down.
  • Finish making his shirt by gluing the 2 orange pom poms on the shirt section of the popsicle sticks.
  • Complete the craft by gluing the hat to the top of the leprechaun's hair.
