Turn little hands into roaring lions with this easy handprint craft. Kids can trace, cut, and decorate using the free template to make their own king of the jungle.

Materials

  • Colored cardstock or construction paper
  • Scissors
  • Glue
  • Marker
  • Lion Template

Instructions

  • Download the template, print it, and cut out the pieces you need.
  • Begin by snipping small slits around the edges of the lion's mane.
  • Next, glue the eyes onto the head piece, just below the eyebrows.
  • Then, color the inner ears using a marker.
  • After that, color small cheeks below the eyes.
  • Trace your child's handprint onto a piece of paper and cut it out.
  • Position the handprint with the fingers pointing down. Glue the head onto the thumb part of the handprint cutout.
  • Next, glue the tail to the back and right side of the handprint near the pinky finger.
  • Finally, glue the tip of the tail to the end of the tail piece.
