Moving Polar Bear Paper Plate Craft

On this Arctic adventure, kids will create a moving polar bear paper plate craft. This interactive craft turns a plain ole paper plate into an icy landscape where their polar bear puppet can move around.

Materials

  • Paper Plate
  • Blue Paint
  • Paint Brush
  • Colored cardstock or construction paper
  • Scissors
  • Glue
  • Markers
  • White acrylic paint marker or Bold & Bright markers
  • Jumbo Popsicle Sticks
  • Double Sided Tape
  • Polar Bear Template

Instructions

  • Download the polar bear template, print, and cut out the pieces you need.
  • Begin by painting the paper plate in 1-2 thin coats of blue paint. Let it dry completely before moving on.

  • Use an acrylic marker to draw snowflakes around the paper plate.
  • Glue the icebergs towards the middle of the paper plate.

  • Flip the polar bear’s body and tape the jumbo popsicle stick to the back. Then use the pink marker to color in the polar bear’s inner ear

  • Place the polar bear in the middle of the paper plate. Finish up by using double-sided tape to tape the ice piece on the bottom part of the paper plate. Make sure to leave room in the middle for the polar bear to move from side to side.
