Materials

  • Paper plate
  • Popsicle stick
  • Colored cardstock or construction paper
  • Pencil
  • Scissors
  • Paint
  • Paintbrushes
  • Glue stick
  • Tape
  • Snowflake stickers
  • Santa template

Instructions

  • Download the Santa template, print, and cut out the pieces you need.
  • Begin by painting the paper plate in a dark blue to look like the night sky. Let the paper plate dry completely before moving on. Alternatively, you can use a blue party plate.
  • Adults only: Take a sharp pair of scissors and cut a horizontal slit in the middle of the paper plate, that is slightly smaller than the width of the chimney.
  • Next, glue the roof to the bottom of the paper plate.
  • Place the chimney on top of the roof, and align the slit to be in the middle of the chimney. Glue the chimney base and outer edges of the top only. You need the middle to be separate from the paper plate so Santa can go up and down.
  • Now, attach the snowflake stickers around the paper plate.
  • Finish off by taping a popsicle stick to the back of the Santa head or pants. Slide the popsicle stick inside the slit (from the top of the chimney) and move it up and down.
