Download the template, edit it to add your child's name, print it, and cut out the pieces you need.

Begin by gluing the lead to the top of the pencil.

Place the eyes below the eyebrows and just above the mouth and glue them in place.

Next, take the top of the pencil piece and glue it just below the mouth.

Take the completed top part of the pencil and glue it to a piece of background paper. Depending on how long the child's name is, you may need to have part of the top hanging off the top of the paper.

Arrange the letters below the top of the pencil to spell out the child's name and glue them in place.

Place the metal band below the last letter of the name and glue it in place.

Next, glue the eraser piece below the metal band.

Optionally, you can cut out the pencil from the background piece of paper.
