Popsicle Stick Groundhog Craft For Kids

Materials

  • Popsicle sticks
  • Brown paint
  • Paintbrush
  • Glue dots permanent or hot glue
  • Cardstock
  • Black marker
  • Glue stick
  • Groundhog template

Instructions

  • Download the groundhog template, print, and cut out the pieces you need.
  • Cut a popsicle stick into thirds with the scissors. Line up 4 popsicle sticks evenly. Stretch out three glue dots to go onto the back of the cut up popsicle stick. Use this to secure the 4 popsicle sticks together.
  • Flip the popsicle sticks over and paint it in 1-2 thin coats of brown paint. Let dry completely before moving on.
  • Glue the groundhog eyes towards the top of the popsicle sticks.
  • Use the black marker to draw on the groundhog's nose and mouth, then glue the teeth below the mouth line.
  • Place the belly below the teeth and glue it in place. Take the arms and glue them on the outside of the popsicle sticks, at the belly line.
  • Take the brown marker and draw on the inner ears on both of the outer ears.
  • Glue the ears on the outside and top of the groundhog popsicle stick base.
