Materials
- Colored cardstock or construction paper
- Scissors
- Glue
- Pencil
- Markers or crayons
- Quail template
Instructions
- Download the quail template, print, and cut out the pieces you need.
- Trace your child's handprint onto a piece of brown paper and cut it out.
- Place the handprint with the fingers pointed up and glue the belly to the bottom of the handprint. Trim off the paper that hangs off the bottom.
- Glue the head to the top of the thumb, then glue the eye just below the eyebrow.
- Next, glue the beak to the right of the eye so that it's hanging off the right side.
- Take the plume and glue it to the top and back of the quail's head.
- Position the wing to the middle of the belly and glue it in place.
- Use different colored brown markers to draw lines along the wing and spots on the belly.
- Finish up by gluing the feet to the back and bottom of the quail's belly.
