Download the quail template, print, and cut out the pieces you need.

Trace your child's handprint onto a piece of brown paper and cut it out.

Place the handprint with the fingers pointed up and glue the belly to the bottom of the handprint. Trim off the paper that hangs off the bottom.

Glue the head to the top of the thumb, then glue the eye just below the eyebrow.

Next, glue the beak to the right of the eye so that it's hanging off the right side.

Take the plume and glue it to the top and back of the quail's head.

Position the wing to the middle of the belly and glue it in place.

Use different colored brown markers to draw lines along the wing and spots on the belly.

Finish up by gluing the feet to the back and bottom of the quail's belly.
