Materials

  • Colored cardstock or construction paper
  • Scissors
  • Glue
  • Star stickers or gel markers
  • Rocket template

Instructions

  • Download the rocket template, print, and cut out the pieces you need.
  • Note: Depending on the length of your child's name you may need to have some of the rocket hang off the sides of the paper. Help the child lay it out before you begin gluing to see where to place the rocket on the background paper.
  • Glue the flame to the space background.
  • Take the fins and glue them to the sides of the rocket base.
  • Glue the rocket base on the far left of the background paper.
  • Next, assemble the letters (or blank spaces) to create the child's name and glue them in place.
  • Make the top of the rocket by gluing the tip to the rocket's top. Trim off any paper that hangs over the rocket.
  • Once you have finished the child's name, glue the rocket top to the right of the name so the rocket is complete.
  • Decorate the space background by placing start stickers or using gel markers to make your own stars.
