Materials

  • Colored cardstock or construction paper
  • Scissors
  • Glue
  • Markers
  • Scarecrow template

Instructions

  • Download the scarecrow template, print, and cut out the pieces you need.
  • Start by gluing the beard to the bottom of the face piece.
  • Place the eyes in the middle of the face and glue them in place.
  • Take the nose and glue it in between and below the eyes.
  • Next, glue the hat to the top of the gnome's face, so it's slightly overlapping the top of the eyes.
  • Position the patch somewhere on the gnome's hat, glue it in place, then draw stitching lines around each edge.
  • Glue the completed gnome head to the top of the gnome's body.
  • Place the straw behind the ends of both arms and glue them in place. Take the other 2 straw pieces, arrange them facing upward, and glue them slightly above the bottom of the gnome's body.
  • Finish up by gluing the feet to the bottom and front of the gnome's body, so the straw peek out from behind them.
