Materials

  • Colored cardstock or construction paper
  • Scissors
  • Glue
  • Pencil
  • Black marker
  • Scarecrow template

Instructions

  • Download the scarecrow template, print, and cut out the pieces you need.
  • Begin by gluing the eyes, one on each side, beneath the eyebrows.
  • Take the triangle nose and glue it in the middle of the face, between the eyes and mouth.
  • Place the cheeks at the ends of the mouth and glue them in place.
  • Next, take the hat and glue it to the top of the scarecrow’s head.
  • Place the hat patch somewhere on the hat and glue it down. Use a black marker to draw stitching lines around it.
  • Glue the collar to the bottom and back of the scarecrow’s head.
  • Next, glue the shirt to the bottom and back of the collar. Position the buttons in the middle of the shirt and glue them in place.
  • Finish off by tracing both of your child’s hands onto a piece of yellow paper and cut them out. Position the handprints with the fingers facing out and glue them to the back and middle of the scarecrow’s head to create the hair.
