Materials

  • Colored card stock in shades of blue and gray
  • White card stock
  • Blue marker
  • Black marker
  • Glue stick
  • Daddy shark template

Instructions

  • If you'd like to use the shark template, enter your email in the form at the end of the post and download the daddy shark template.
  • There are 2 different templates included in the download. If you're making only one card, use the first page which has all the shark pieces on one page. If you're helping multiple children, print the next template which has each of the different shark pieces (grouped by color) on a separate page. With this template you can print all the top shark pieces, bottom pieces and teeth on the colored card stock of your choice and let the children cut out their own individual pieces. There are also 2 different background pages to select from. The first has outlined words so you can print on white card stock and have your child color it in. The second has black lettering that you can print directly onto blue card stock (this is what is shown in the pictures).
  • Cut out all three pieces to make your shark.
  • Place the blue top piece of the shark so it lines up with the top of the white underside of the shark. Glue in place with the glue stick.
  • Glue the teeth in place over both pieces of the shark's body, with the edge lining up with the slight indentation on the side of the shark.
  • Use your black marker to draw an oval eye, the shark's teeth and two nostrils on the shark's nose. If you're using white teeth on the white belly of the shark, you can also outline the mouth with the black marker to make it stand out.
  • Cover the entire back side of your assembled shark with glue, then glue it onto the card stock background page.
  • Use the blue marker to make little water lines around the shark.
  • Admire your adorable Daddy shark!
