This Spookley the Square Pumpkin art project for young kids is a great way to let them use their imaginations and have some fun with watercolors.

Materials

  • White art paper
  • Watercolors
  • Paintbrush
  • Scissors
  • Glue
  • Spookley printable

Instructions

  • Download the Spookley printable and print it out on thick white cardstock or art paper.
  • Paint all of the pieces of the printable, then let them dry completely. Cut out all of the pieces.
  • Take a blank piece of art paper and paint a scene with a hill and a sky background. Let it dry completely.
  • Create Spookley by gluing the eyes below the eyebrows.
  • Next, glue the stem to the top and the back of the pumpkin.
  • Place the leaf arms on each side of the pumpkin and glue them to the back of both sides of the pumpkin.
  • Glue the barn somewhere along the hill, then glue Spookley in front of it.
  • Finish up by gluing the clouds in the sky.
