Materials

  • Colored cardstock or construction paper
  • Glue
  • Scissors
  • Marker
  • Tape
  • Chicken template

Instructions

  • Download the chicken template, print, and cut out the pieces you need.
  • Start making the chicken by gluing the eye beneath each of the eyebrows.
  • Glue the wattle to the bottom center of the eyes.
  • Take the beak and glue it between the eyes, along the lower portion.
  • Next, glue the comb to the top of the chicken’s head, in between the eyes.
  • Draw the feathers of the chicken using the marker.
  • Take the body piece and measure it against your toilet paper roll. Make a mark on the toilet roll where it ends, then use some scissors to cut the toilet roll to the proper height.
  • Place tape along one side of the chicken’s body and attach it to the toilet paper roll.
  • Use another piece of tape to secure it to the roll.
  • Then, wrap the body around the toilet paper roll and tape it to the other side.
  • Take the wings and fold a small portion of the pointy side. Place glue on the folded portion and glue it to the sides of the chicken’s body, just on the sides of the body.
  • Finally, attach the head to the top of the body using glue.
