Materials

  • Colored cardstock or construction paper
  • Scissors
  • Glue
  • Markers
  • Gingerbread Template

Instructions

  • Download the gingerbread template, print, and cut out the pieces you need.
  • Begin by spreading glue over a whole section of gingerbread background paper.
  • Next, start tearing different shades of brown paper into small pieces. Then, begin gluing them on all parts of the gingerbread’s body. Repeat until the entire body is covered.
  • Now, create the gingerbread boy by gluing the bowtie to his neck. If you're making a gingerbread girl, you'll need to color the sprinkles on the icing hair, glue the icing hair on first, and then glue the bow to the icing.
  • Place the gingerbread’s mouth just above the gingerbread's neck.
  • Glue both eyes just above the mouth.
  • For gingerbread boys, use markers to draw sprinkles on the hair. Then glue the hair to the top of the gingerbread’s head.
  • Position the buttons in the middle of the gingerbread’s body and glue them down.
  • Finish by gluing the icing decorations on the arms and legs.
