Materials

  • Brown paper bag
  • Colored cardstock or construction paper
  • Scissors
  • Glue
  • Uncle Sam template

Instructions

  • Download the Uncle Sam template, print, and cut out the pieces you need.
  • Start by gluing the eyes, one on each side of the nose line.

  • Place the eyebrows above each eye and glue them in place.
  • Next, take the goatee and glue it just below the mouth.

  • Position the hair on both sides of the head and glue it down. Set the head aside for later.
  • Create the hat by gluing the red strips vertically along the top of the hat. Cut off any excess paper that hangs off the top.
  • Glue the blue hat band along the bottom of the main portion of the hat. Trim off any excess paper that hangs off the sides.

  • Next, place the star in the middle of the hat band and glue it near the top. Place the hat brim on the bottom of the main portion of the hat and glue it in place.
  • Make Uncle Sam's clothing by gluing the jacket pieces to both sides of the shirt.

  • Place the bowtie in the middle of the "v" portion of the shirt and glue it in place.
  • Take the head and glue it to the flap portion of the brown bag, then glue the hat to the top of Uncle Sam's head.
  • Finish up by gluing the shirt and jacket combination to the main portion of the brown bag.
