An interesting and very sociable mammal that calls the arctic its home is the walrus. These flippered friends are known for their long tusks and whiskered mustaches. Our walrus has gathered up some fish to help kids learn to spell their names with this walrus name craft. Kids will line the fish up in the right order to spell out their names and personalize their craft. Your kids will stay occupied and entertained when they make this craft, plus they'll learn how to follow directions, and develop their fine motor skills and scissor skills."]
Materials
- Colored cardstock or construction paper
- Scissors
- Glue
- Walrus template
Instructions
- Download the walrus template, edit it to add your child(rens) name, print it out, and cut out the pieces you need.
- Begin by gluing the nose in the middle and top of the mouth piece.
- Place the tusks behind the mouth and glue them to the back and both sides of the mouth.
- Next, glue this completed piece to the middle of the walrus' head.
- Glue the eyes in between the nose and the eyebrows, one on each side of the head.
- Take the completed head and glue it to the top and front of the walrus' body.
- Arrange the fish letters along the bottom of the walrus' body to spell out the child's name and glue in place.
