Materials

  • Thin cardboard from cereal or tissue box
  • Paint we used acrylic paint
  • Paintbrush
  • Yarn
  • Glue
  • Scissors
  • Pencil
  • Tape
  • Colored cardstock or construction paper
  • Apple template

Instructions

  • Download the apple template, print, and cut out the pieces you need.
  • Place the apple template on the cardboard, trace it, and cut it out. Paint the apple in 1-2 thin coats of green or red paint. Let dry completely before moving on.
  • Begin by gluing the stem to the top and back of the apple shape.
  • Next, tape one end of the yarn to the back of the apple.
  • Wrap the yarn around the apple in all directions as much or as little as you want.
  • When you’re done, tape the other end of the yarn to the back of the apple and cut off the yarn.
  • Flip the apple to the front side and glue the eyes near the top of the apple.
  • Create the apple’s mouth by gluing the tongue to the mouth. Trim off any excess paper.
  • Finish off by gluing the mouth in the middle of the apple, just below the mouth.
