Create a 3D ladybug craft that pops off the page with simple folding and layering. This fun and easy activity adds a lively touch to any springtime scene!

Materials

  • Colored cardstock or construction paper
  • Scissors
  • Glue
  • Ladybug Template

Instructions

  • Download the template, print it, and cut out the pieces you need.
  • Glue the eyes onto the ladybug's head, on the inside edge of the eyelashes.
  • Fold the edge of the wings along the dashed line to add dimension.
  • Glue the edges of the folded wing to the body piece for a 3D effect.
  • Repeat the same step for the other wing.
  • Make thin cuts along the top edge of the grass piece to create grass. Vary the lengths of the cuts to add texture.
  • Glue the grass strip to the bottom of the background paper.
  • Fold a small paper strip like an accordion.
  • Flip the ladybug over and glue the folded paper in the center.
  • Turn the ladybug back over and attach the folded paper to the top of the background.
  • Glue the clouds above the ladybug to complete the scene.
